Armchair Handstand

Perform a handstand with hands on each arm of the chair and feet on the wall behind the chair.

Find a suitable armchair with its back to a wall and stand in front of it, with your back to the chair.

Carefully stand on the chair and bend forward, placing a hand on each armrest.

Lift one foot onto the top edge of the headrest area.

Shifting your body weight forwards onto your hands, carefully raise your second foot alongside the first.

Move both feet up onto the wall behind and then fully extend one leg upwards.

Fully extend the other leg and make sure that your body is straight and fully extended.

Notes

Always have a spotting partner on stand-by to hold the chair down, if needed to ensure safety of House Gymnast. To maintain a straight back and avoid injury, keep your stomach muscles tensed.
